6. I will begin with a short you tube clip on the letter "The
Letter B Song" by ABCmouse.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoFz9V_BEG4
this will grab the students attention and they will be engaged in the lesson
7. Activities
Students will receive a worksheet
with pictures of different objects many of them beginning with the letter B together
with a partner they will have to circle the objects that begin with the letter
B with a colorful marker. On the bottom of the worksheet each student will
write the letter b 3 times.
Together as a class we will play
Bingo and the words we use will all begin with the letter b.
Students will be grouped in 3. They
will receive a balloon and after they blow it up every time someone from the
group says a word beginning with the sound b they will write the letter b on
their balloon with a marker. Whichever team has the most B’s on their balloon wins.

This lesson uses multiple
entry points for diverse learners by using visual images group learning and
song.

Assessment
I will walk around and informally assess
my students while they are doing the balloon activity. I will also formally assess
my students from the worksheets they fill out.

Lesson closure
I will ask the students if they
know anyone whose name begins with the letter B.
I will then hang up the B cutouts on the alphabet wall and
students will have it there posted as a future reference.
12.
Classroom follow up
We will learn new sight words that
have the letter B in them.
For homework student will have a
worksheet practicing the letter B

Evaluating this lesson
Strengths – uses multiple ways to
teach the letter so all types of learners have the opportunity to learn.
Weaknesses I think this lesson can
use more focus on writing.
